Strasbourg Station, France

Jean-Marie Railway Duthilleul, director of the French railway giant SNCF's urban development department, is known as much for his genius in spatial organisation as for his expertise in project management. He was born in 1952 and became an engineer in 1975 after graduating from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. Duthilleul earned a degree from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in 1977 and his architect's diploma in 1979. Today Duthilleul is responsible for all of SNCF's urban development and architectural studies. Among other projects, he is credited with works at the Gare Montparnasse and the Gare du Nord in Paris, new rail stations at Lille-Europe, Charles de Gaulle airport, EuroDisney, and other major rail stations in France, as well as in Seoul.

The intension was an un-obstructive development of a structure that does not look residential. The villa is fully embedded in the landscape. Access is provided via an existing wooden barn, located on a lower level of the mountain. An underground tunnel, slightly absurd, will lead to the main programme situated in a circular cut made in the mountain slope. The presence of the villa in the landscape is thus limited to minimum. The view from the villa looks over the narrow mount valley of Vals and its dramatic surrounding scenery.

The xx is a band from south west London, England, formed in 2005. Their debut album, xx, was released on Young Turks Records on 17 August 2009. Though the band had worked with both Diplo and Kwes. xx was produced by the band themselves and mixed by Jamie Smith and Rodaidh McDonald. The band has received continuously high praise from the music press and the album was included on many 'Best of 2009' lists. It was considered album of the year by The Guardian UK, NME and Pitchfork. Also Rolling Stones Magazine and Blitz Magazine (Portugal) considered XX as the best 2009 album.

"The Lionshare"








The nobudget debut film by Josh Bernhard.

Nick (Mike Pantozzi) gets his girls the same way he gets his music: online. On a first date, Eva (Jessi Kneeland) invites him to an exclusive filesharing community called ‘The Lionshare’. From there, Nick’s own creative frustration fuels his consumption of pirated music and other media while he produces nothing of his own. Eventually, he finds inspiration in the unlikeliest of places.
